Perencana Dingin and UniMAP Join Forces to Advance Rail HVAC Innovation and Talent Development

Perencana Dingin Sdn. Bhd. has partnered with Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) to drive innovation and talent development in the field of rolling stock HVAC systems. The collaboration includes the joint design and development of a rolling stock test platform or psychrometric lab, as well as predictive maintenance systems and condition monitoring for HVAC units. It also covers sustainability-focused R&D, including eco-friendly refrigerants, compressor remanufacturing, and biodegradable solvents.

UniMAP students will be actively involved in these projects, gaining hands-on experience in real-world engineering applications. The partnership also introduces a structured TVET certification program through a teaching factory model, leveraging Perencana Dingin’s industry expertise and supported by the Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body (GITC) and the Ministry of Higher Education. This collaboration is set to strengthen technical capabilities and prepare a skilled workforce for Malaysia’s rail industry.
